T&C’s editor-in-chief Justine Picardie is set to speak at Heckfield Place on 10 November as part of the Hampshire hotel’s exciting new programme of talks and events, titled ‘The Assembly’.

Bringing together speakers from all walks of life, the year-round talks, panel discussions and workshops take place against the spectacular backdrop of the sympathetically converted Georgian home, which is set amid 400 acres of parkland, meadows and heather-filled gardens. Justine’s talk will focus on the fascinating story of Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel, as told in her book, Coco Chanel: The Legend and the Life, a copy of which is included in the ticket price. Chanel not only transformed women’s fashion through her intricate craftsmanship and visionary designs, but also fashioned the myth of her own life, creating an allure that still endures today.

The event is a highlight of a series that also includes a conversation with the CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour, a festive screening of the Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker and a wreath-making workshop with the floral designer Kitten Grayson.

While at Heckfield Place, take advantage of the hotel’s superb facilities: unwind in the immaculate Little Bothy Spa, stroll around the walled garden and pleasure grounds, or dine in one of the restaurants, all of which serve deliciously seasonal dishes overseen by the chef Skye Gyngell.

Justine Picardie’s talk will take place at 6.30pm on 10 November in the screening room at Heckfield Place, Hampshire. Click here to buy tickets.
