Maison Assouline becomes London’s first Gucci Place

The bookstore and lifestyle destination has joined the brand’s international network of special locations

Gucci has named Maison Assouline as the first London member of its Gucci Places programme, which celebrates unique locations around the world that reflect the luxury brand’s values and aesthetic.

The cultural concept store, which opened on Piccadilly three years ago, joins venues such as Chatsworth House, the Biblioteca Angelica in Rome and LACMA in Los Angeles in a line-up of places whose “extraordinary beauty and spellbinding stories” have in some way inspired the house of Gucci.

To celebrate the announcement, Gucci has launched a range of products inspired by Maison Assouline, their design details making reference to the historic building on Piccadilly. Special Assouline-themed patches have been created that feature on each of the accessories, which include a mobile-phone case, a purse and different styles of bag.
