Taschen opens at Claridge’s

Book lovers are flocking to the publisher’s new gallery space, based at the luxury London hotel

Taschen has opened a lavish new gallery and store at Claridge’s hotel in Mayfair, showcasing a carefully curated selection of books and prints. The venue is the publisher’s second outpost in London, following its flagship Chelsea store, which opened in 2008.

Highlights include brand new collector’s editions such as David Hockney’s recent SUMO-sized retrospective; Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, a volume exploring the fashion duo’s unique creative partnership; and Albert Watson: Kaos, which pays tribute to the Scottish photographer. The gallery also stocks popular editions including Dalí: Les dîners de Gala, and signed prints by Marvin E Newman, Ellen von Unwerth and Mick Rock.

Taschen at Claridge’s is now open (Monday to Saturday, 10–7pm, Sunday 12–6pm).
