What to book: The Ritz x National Portrait Gallery
Fine food and fine art go hand in hand with the Ritz’s exclusive new afternoon-tea package, launched in celebration of the National Portrait Gallery’s ‘The Encounter: Drawings from Leonardo to Rembrandt’.
The offer includes a ticket to see the exhibition, followed by a 7:30pm sitting of traditional afternoon tea with a complimentary glass of champagne. Opening on 13 July, ‘The Encounter’ features more than 50 portrait drawings by some of the most renowned artists of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, including Leonardo da Vinci, Holbein, Rubens and Rembrandt. Incorporating pieces that are seldom viewed due to their light sensitivity, the exhibition showcases the precision and ingenuity that these artists applied to life-drawing.

Afterwards, guests are invited to indulge in a quintessentially British afternoon tea at The Ritz. The tiered tea stand will include sandwiches, scones with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry preserve, and an assortment of tea cakes and pastries, all accompanied by a selection of 18 loose-leaf teas and a glass of champagne.
The exhibition takes place from 13 July to 22 October and the ticket package costs £64 per person. To make a reservation, contact the dining team at The Ritz London on +44 (0) 207 300 2345.
