Meet the 12 dogs of Christmas

The line-up of celebrity pooches wear festive jumpers in aid of Save the Children

With more Britons than ever before signing up to celebrate Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 15 December, it’s time for man’s best friend to get in on the festive action. This year, Save the Children has teamed up with the leading animal photographer Tim Flach to release a series of portraits showing 12 celebrity canines dressed in wonderful winter woollies.

Flach’s 12 Dogs of Christmas series includes a stellar line-up of canine talent, including the Instagram stars Bruno (@Brunotheminidachshund, pictured below), Winny the Corgi (@WinnytheCorgi) and Ramsey (@Bluestaffy), each one sporting a festive jumper accessorised with everything from Santa hats to fairy lights. The initiative comes as research reveals that one in five pet owners spend more on animals than family members at Christmas, with 79 per cent planning to buy gifts for their beloved companions.

Pet owners can get involved by dressing their dogs in the most eccentric winter wear they can find this Friday, in return for a £2 donation to Save the Children. The money raised will support the charity’s efforts to help children living in refugee camps to keep warm, eat nutritious food and find safe shelter.
