Royal Ascot unveils specially commissioned globe artwork

Peter Bellerby’s handmade globe tells the story of the summer’s most exclusive racing event

Peter Bellerby, who founded the bespoke globe-making business Bellerby & Co (as featured in Town & Country), has designed a unique artwork for Royal Ascot.

Launched at a private event held at the Goring hotel earlier this week, Bellerby’s specially commissioned globe depicts the thrilling experience of visiting the racecourse. From a champagne waterfall and a floating cakestand to a herd of thoroughbreds and a fleet of helicopters, each one of the creation's 30 hand-painted illustrations conveys a different aspect of the extraordinary Royal Ascot experience.

Titled A World Like Nowhere Else, the artwork will be on display at the Goring for the next fortnight, where visitors can enjoy a flight of Bollinger Champagne (one of Ascot’s official partners) to mark the occasion. The globe will then be taken on a tour around historic venues including Christie’s, the Ritz and the Hurlingham.
