The A List: 1 October
Good Earth In conjunction with the V&A Museum’s ‘The Fabric of India’ exhibition, this Mumbai-based design house is launching both a UK website and a pop-up in Selfridges (the latter will be open over the Christmas period). Look out for its gorgeous lanterns (the Nigeen model is pictured above), charming place-settings and textiles.
London Art Studies For the busy bee who wants a quick infusion of culture, this organisation offers one-off lectures by art experts that are themed around current exhibitions, with events taking place over breakfast or cocktails at London’s Bulgari Hotel. The next talk – ‘The Insider’s Guide to Frieze’, scheduled for 6 October – promises to be good fun.
Astraeus collection by Star Diamond This week, private jeweller Star Diamond is set to launch its ethereal Astraeus range of rings and earrings. There are gorgeous clusters of white and yellow diamonds, as well as limited-edition pieces in pink diamonds.
Beetroot brownies by The Detox Kitchen I was a bit peckish during a spin around Harvey Nichols with a style concierge and found myself on the fifth floor being offered a taste of this not-so-decadent treat. Beetroot, wholemeal flour, eggs, honey, cacao powder and raspberries equal a delight you won’t have to repent.
Frozen at Royal Albert Hall If you happen to be stuck in London during the half-term break, try taking your kids to a screening of Frozen at my favourite London venue. Two shows will take place on 29 October, both accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and the Maida Vale Singers to make the film even more special.
Ultimate Oil by Udo’s Choice I like to blend my supplements into my morning green smoothie – and top of my list is this wonderfully rich, too-good-to-be-true, nutty-flavoured Omega 3-6-9 oil. Try combining it with wheatgrass powder, lemon, triphala (for digestion), celery, spinach, cucumber and liquid chlorophyll, and let the magic begin.
Mischief Super Yacht presented by Lillingston During the Rugby World Cup, this incredible 54-metre vessel will host chartered lunches and dinners with rugby legends such as Dan Luger, Rod Kafer and Matt Dawson, while gourmet super-chefs offer up lobster, wagyu, caviar and foie gras.
Meringue Girls Their gorgeous creations in every colour of the rainbow can tempt even the most angelic eater – and now they also make beautiful, heavenly cakes for any occasion.
The Supper Club On 4 November, the Terrence Higgins Trust will host its 15th annual London Supper Club. Fifty of London’s top restaurants and caterers – including Cafe Murano, The Dining Room at The Goring and Gauthier Soho – donate tables for members of the public to host parties for a dozen of their closest friends. There’s even a massive after-party at The Drury Club, so apply to become a host now and send a save-the-date to your friends.
