The A List: 12 April

From asparagus season in London to fine-dining in Paris

45 Jermyn Street Ever championing the finest seasonal ingredients, one of my favourite London haunts has introduced five new asparagus dishes served from breakfast through to dinner, with the stems directly sourced from a family-run farm in Herefordshire. I particularly enjoyed the Asian-influenced braised chicken legs cooked in an umami-rich soy dashi sauce, and combined with white and green asparagus spheres, shimeji mushrooms and topped with a quail’s egg. For pasta lovers, homemade tagliolini is paired with thinly sliced asparagus and morel mushrooms, cooked together in a mushroom stock and finished with Italian Caciocavallo cheese.

Soul Sergeants’ Candy Cowgirl Visor This seriously sequinned statement visor is available for a limited time as part of Topshop’s festival-wear collection.

Le Labo This scent-maker will have you second-guessing your usual preferences. Try layering the Patchouli, Ylang and Iris for a deeply engaging fragrance.

Guy Savoy When in Paris, this remains the most miraculous place for fine-dining, especially if you order the salmon – cooked table-side on a block of salt – and the heavenly rice pudding.

Tom Stoppard’s Travesties Finally, a revival of his brilliant play from the 1970s is set to open on 24 April at NYC’s American Airlines Theatre.
