Original trunks belonging to Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart are on display in the Harrods luggage department as part of the Hartmann Trunk Show.

Joseph S Hartmann, who founded the luxury luggage brand Hartmann, had a singular vision: to create “luggage so fine, it will stand as a symbol of elegance”. Hartmann’s eponymous company is now renowned for its heritage and original craftsmanship, having produced exquisite travel cases and fine leather goods for more than 135 years. The business has built up a loyal clientele, ranging from glamorous 1940s screen stars to modern-day fashion icons.

The Hartmann Trunk Show, an international touring exhibition titled ‘A Love Affair with Travel’, highlights three major eras in the history of the brand, as well as showcasing trunks that once belonged to Bacall and Bogart. The event offers a rare opportunity to discover the pieces that have inspired Hartmann’s beautifully crafted new collections.
